Voltan Motorsports raised awareness and directed donations toward Malaysian Red Crescent Society support during the 2025 Johor floods.
Due to heavy prolonged rainfall from the 19th to 25th of March 2025, severe flooding occurred in urban areas in southern Johor. The Malaysian Meteorological Department issued severe-level continuous rain warnings for this period. This occurred during the northwest monsoon season, which lasts from November to March, and the 2024–2025 monsoon season was notably intense across Southeast Asia.
Over 5,000 people were evacuated to temporary relief centres. Many businesses, shops and key infrastructure such as roads remained closed for weeks. Thousands of homes were flooded to varying depths, and key transport routes in Johor Bahru were disrupted.
We gave presentations to multiple classes in our school, raised awareness of the issue and implemented a Malaysia National QR-based donation system linking to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, which handled donations and ran rescue services in the region.
The Malaysian Red Crescent Society distributed key water filtration systems, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases among victims. MRCS equipment was also used in rescue missions by volunteers in collaboration with Jabatan Bomba and Angkatan Pertahanan Awam, helping transport vulnerable people to evacuation centres and provide essentials.
