Voltan Motorsports competed in the STEM Racing Johor State Finals along with 15 other teams at the University of Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Technology on the 27th–28th of September. We were excited for the opportunity to compete and connect with other teams and schools. Voltan Motorsports represented Daerah Johor Bahru, our home district, in this competition.
The team arrived at UniKL MITEC ready for a demanding competition weekend.
We set up our pit display in under 2 minutes — record time.
The team delivered its verbal presentation to the judges as part of the competition.
Our races went extremely well, with strong performances across multiple heats.
The team received participation medals as part of the event.

See below our race results using our sleek, agile and aerodynamic work of art of a car.
In our first race, we were behind by only 0.137s in race time, likely due to turbulent air caused by the front wing.
Our second race was a very close battle. Astaria had a faster start, but our car was faster and gapped them in the last 5 metres.
This race was won by outright domination. We won by over a fifth of a second, a very large margin.
Like the first race against Nova Legion, we dominated. Our reaction time was much faster and we had a clear margin.

Additional team, booth and event moments from the weekend.

We are proud to announce that we placed 5th in Johor, placing in the top third of 15 teams participating in Johor. Furthermore, our best reaction time of 0.168s was only 0.002s behind the best in Johor, recorded by Harimau Racing at 0.166s. This result gave us the opportunity to compete in the 2026 Southern Malaysia Regional Finals.
We will take our experiences and learnings from the 2025 Johor State Finals forward and look forward to working with our sponsors next year.
